Christmas and New Year 2010

Embrace the festive season at The Crown Country Inn with our December menu. Celebrate your Christmas get together in our Corvedale Restaurant with a private party of between 20-40 guests, alternatively the Bay Restaurant is available for a maximum of 16 people. Sit by the roaring fires with a drink and mince pie - look out for Santa coming down the chimney!

Below is a sample of our 2009 Christmas and New Year menu.

Our 2010 menu will follow later on in the year.

Christmas Sample Menu

Three Course Lunch - £18.95

  Homemade grissini with tomato fondue and tapenade

Creamed Winter vegetable soup finished with smoked oil

and cheese croutons

Ham hock croquettes – flakes of local ham hock coated in bread crumbs and served with a tomato and chilli chutney

Pastry tartlet of roasted red onions, apple and sage topped with melted goat’s cheese on a mustard leaf salad and balsamic dressing

Poached fillet of our own smoked salmon with a

fricasse of Risoni pasta, saffron and prawns

Roast pave of Shropshire turkey breast served with

bubble and squeak, homemade chestnut and apricot sausage and fresh thyme gravy

Crispy slow cooked belly pork on a bed of buttered cabbage and smoked bacon with braised potato and wild mushroom sauce

Griddled fillet of sea bass with fennel and orange marmalade and a crayfish, chorizo and basil butter sauce

Risotto of fresh basil and Parmesan cheese topped with

roasted root vegetables and Port wine syrup

Rum sauce, Tophouse Farm Panacotta ice cream and

Brandy butter

Vanilla crème brulee with caramelized fresh fig and

Brandy snap

Rich chocolate and orange tart with vanilla poached satsumas and clotted cream

homemade apple chutney and biscuits
